Bethany Witzig
Instructor
Born and raised in Boone, North Carolina, Bethany fell in love with clogging at just 5 years old. One of her favorite childhood memories is dancing alongside her four sisters and competing at the NC State Fair.
Bethany joined Appalachian Rhythm in 2016 and taught clogging from 2018-2020 while earning degrees in Communications and Spanish from Appalachian State University. During her time with Appalachian Rhythm, she loved competing and performing across the country, including at Disney World, but her greatest joy was choreographing dances and investing in her students.
After graduating, Bethany moved overseas with Samaritan's Purse, but she didn't stop clogging! She brought her love for dance and Appalachian culture with her, even teaching classes in Vietnam and Iraq.
IShe returned to Boone in 2024 when she got married to her husband, Luke. They recently welcomed their first son, Elliot, and she's thrilled to be back with the Appalachian Rhythm family. Outside the studio, Bethany enjoys running, baking, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
